Erg Chigaga (south of Mhamid) is more remote, requires a 60 km 4×4 piste to reach, has fewer visitors and feels more like an expedition. Pick Erg Chebbi for first-time desert visitors and Erg Chigaga if you've done the Sahara before or specifically want unspoiled solitude.
