We always recommend our travelers stay in a riad to experience authentic Moroccan hospitality. A riad is a traditional Moroccan house located within an ancient medina (walled city), designed around a central courtyard and garden. These beautiful homes have been restored to reflect time-honored Moroccan decor while providing guests with many of the modern amenities found in 4- and 5-star hotels.
Your driverWhat's Included With My Private Driver?
All of our private custom trips include professional and experienced English-speaking drivers, carefully selected to meet our Gateway2Morocco standards, many of whom have worked with our company for years. The cost of the driver is all-inclusive, covering fuel, lodging, food, tolls, and other expenses incurred during the trip. The driver's tip is not included in the cost, and we ask that you leave a tip for their services. A few days prior to the tour, we provide you with the driver's name and contact information so you can reach them if needed.
Drivers vs guidesIs the Driver a Tour Guide?
There is a difference between tour guides and drivers in Morocco. Tour guides are licensed to give historical tours of Morocco and can accompany clients into the major cities. Your driver will guide you throughout Morocco, but we also provide a professional tour guide in the major cities. Your driver is your window into the everyday culture of Morocco — and if you would like a full-time, professional tour guide for the entire tour, we can arrange that too, at additional cost.
Gateway2Morocco also works with many drivers who hold licenses as national tour guides, though driver assignment is confirmed about a week before the trip.
